What can fans expect from Chelsea new boy Schurrle?


Chelsea confirmed that they reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Andre Schurrle on Thursday which will see the German international move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but what can Chelsea fans expect from him?

The 22-year-old primarily plays as a winger or left forward but could be used as a backup striker if need be and the Blues would benefit from Schurrle’s pace and athleticism, especially on the counter-attack. He operates mostly on the left-hand-side cutting in onto his strong foot and is capable of unleashing thunderous efforts.

Schurrle has a fair goal scoring record in the Bundesliga with both Mainz 05 and Bayer Leverkusen, with his best total being the 15 he scored during the 2010-11 campaign and he finished this season with 14.
